How soon should I hear back after each stage?

Our goal is to reach out within one week to all candidates, however this can change depending on the volume of candidates received for each role. If you’d like to follow up, email us at careers@gianttiger.com!

How are interviews held?

Due to the impact of COVID-19, we have pivoted to complete the majority of our interviews virtually. If you are applying to a role with our stores or distribution teams, you will be interviewed on site by default, but can request accommodations if required. We love to use your interview as an opportunity to give you a tour of where you’d be working!

How should I prepare for the interview? What types of questions will be asked of me?

Typically, the preliminary phone interview is done to learn more about you as well as your experiences; questions asked will be typically about your past experiences and skills you will need to function in the role being interviewed for. The second interview with the hiring manager is usually a technical interview that really delves into the nitty gritty of the role. We advise you review the job description thoroughly and also read about our culture and values at Giant Tiger.

What information do you need from my references? Who can I use as a reference?

We conduct reference checks to verify your employment history, work habits, character and skills. You may be required to submit a minimum of 2 references. If you are asked to provide references, please note that we cannot accept any family members. We will ask to speak with one former/current supervisor or manager. Students can use teachers or professors when applicable.
